Fortnite OG Season 9 — The Future is Yours — launched on June 25, 2026 with update v41.10 and runs through September 2, 2026. The theme mirrors the original Chapter 1 Season 9: a futuristic overhaul of the island, slipstreams and air vents everywhere, Hot Spots with Loot Drones, and a loot pool built around classic high-tech weapons. Here's everything that's new.
Season Dates
- Start: June 25, 2026
- End: September 2, 2026
- Update: v41.10
- Slogan: "The Future is Yours"
Map Changes
Season 9 gives the Chapter 1 island a full futuristic facelift. Three major POIs have been rebuilt from scratch:
- Neo Tilted — Tilted Towers is back in its Season 9 form, rebuilt as a futuristic city with neon signage, elevated walkways, and slipstream connections between buildings. Expect it to be the sweatiest drop of the season.
- Mega Mall — Retail Row has been replaced by Mega Mall, a large indoor shopping center POI packed with loot and vertical angles. Great for close-range fights and ambushes.
- Pressure Plant — The volcano area is now Pressure Plant, an industrial location built around lava and machinery.
Additional map updates: blimps float above Neo Tilted, Mega Mall, and Spawn Island; wind turbines dot the Boreal Forest biome; the Vault at Loot Lake powers Neo Tilted; Pirate Camps were mostly removed; and Spawn Island has a futuristic theme update.
Slipstreams & Air Vents
The biggest movement change in Season 9 is the return of Slipstreams and the introduction of Air Vents. Slipstreams are wind tunnels that circle the island and connect major POIs, launching players into the air and making rotations significantly faster than previous OG seasons — a long slipstream runs around the entire island perimeter, with shorter ones threading through Neo Tilted and Mega Mall internally.
Air Vents are scattered across the map as smaller launch points, letting players boost vertically without needing to find a slipstream. Together, they make Season 9 the most mobility-friendly OG season to date and open up Zero Build rotation options that weren't viable in prior seasons.
Hot Spots & Loot Drones
Hot Spots are back. These are named POIs highlighted in gold on the minimap at the start of each match. While a location is a Hot Spot, Loot Drones fly circuits over the area carrying weapons and ammo. Shoot down a drone to grab its payload — Hot Spot loot tends to be higher rarity than standard floor drops, making these locations high-value early-game targets worth contesting if you can handle the extra competition.
Victory Umbrella — Ice Eye 'Brella
The Season 9 Victory Umbrella is the Ice Eye 'Brella. Win your first match of OG Season 9 and it's yours. The name nods to the cold, futuristic aesthetic running through the season's visual theme.
OG Pass — Skins & Cosmetics
The Season 9 OG Pass has three main remixed skins, all tied to the original Chapter 1 Season 9 Battle Pass:

Infinity Blade — Unvaulting Event
The Infinity Blade is returning as an Unvaulting Event reward. One of the most controversial Mythic weapons in Fortnite history — its original appearance in Chapter 1 Season 7 was so dominant it was patched out within days — the Infinity Blade gives its carrier massively boosted HP, a one-hit melee attack, and a ground-slam ability. Exact unlock timing for Season 9's Unvaulting Event will be announced by Epic.
Story — The Final Showdown
Season 9's narrative ties into The Devourer and the Mecha Team Leader arc from Chapter 1. Polar Peak melted, revealing The Devourer, and the season builds toward a reproduction of The Final Showdown — the giant mech vs monster live event that remains one of Fortnite's most-watched moments. Expect it to return during Season 9 with possible new changes, though Epic hasn't announced a date yet.
